WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME TO RESIGN

Do you you have a decent job? Well consider yourself blessed; this whole world has suffered in enough from a pandemic. All sectors has been affected and the economy has been in a bad shape ever since and it will take some time to recover. Unless you are aging and you want to recover think carefully before leaving a job, many people don’t look back from new job offers especially when offered a fat stack of cash and forget that there are lot of factors need to be considered before leaving a job for another job. First of all you need to look at the new companies or organization’s reputation, contract, benefits such as medical aid, UIF, pension fund and others.

Get to know your boss; is there a healthy working environment? Culture as well values. The truth is the grass is always greener on the other side. A lot of people jump for as long the paycheck is better than the current job and they find out that they headed to a toxic working group. Money is good but also knows your worth, money cannot always buy happiness.

First of all, a first valid reason to resign is when you found your dream job you are qualified for, it is really worth the risk and facing any challenges. Here are few valid reasons to resign:

  1. When your position is being undermined in the workplace
  2. No place for growth
  3. When superior lacks ambitions
  4. Under compensated
  5. Offered your dream job

However, there are steps to follow before handing over a resignation letter

STEP 1

Decide the date when you would like to close the door on your way out and that date should correspond with the day you were hired and your pay date. Also you should consider a notice of resigning according to the company rules and regulations and that should be days, weeks or months.

STEP 2

Write a resignation letter and remember to express your gratitude for the jobs they gave you and should they wish to host a fair well party.

STEP 3

Hand over the resignation letter to your superiors and let them understand that you are leaving in a good note, which helps a lot in case your future bosses requests a letter of recommendation from your previous employers.

STEP 4 (optional)

In case they throw a farewell function make sure you make a good speech to both superiors and fellow colleagues.
